At age 19 Eddy Ellwood started a fledgling career as a boxer, but found it hard to get suitable opposition. He decided to go up a division (to heavyweight), and thus discovered the gym - his career in bodybuilding took off when he won his first local bodybuilding competition as a Junior. He went on to win the Pro NABBA Universe consecutively 5 times, which is an all-time record.
